Free construction of a rhombus

In the preceding activity, you should have discovered that a rhombus has (among others) the following important properties:

  1. Two axes of symmetry, each through a pair of opposite vertices
  2. All sides equal
  3. Perpendicular diagonals
  4. Circumscribed
  5. Bisecting diagonals
  6. Opposite sides parallel

Choose one of the properties above, or a combination of two or more, and use the sketch and associated construction tools below, to construct a dynamic rhombus by using only those selected properties. Try to construct a dynamic rhombus in at least three completely different ways. Carefully check your constructions by dragging using the 'move element' tool to see whether it remains a rhombus, and also whether you can drag it into the shape of a square.
